What is the Home Renovation Savings Program?
Starting January 28, 2025, homeowners in Ontario can receive up to 30% back in rebates on energy-efficient upgrades like windows, doors, insulation, and more.
For one, to receive your rebates, you can start with a home energy assessment and then complete two or more eligible upgrades as below:
How Much Can You Get?
- Home energy assessment: $600 rebate
- Windows & doors: $100 rebate per ENERGY STAR® certified window or door installed
- Insulation: Up to $8,900 rebate
- Air sealing: Up to $250 rebate
- Heat pump water heaters: $500 rebate (ENERGY STAR® models)
Note: Windows, doors and heat pump water heaters must be an ENERGY STAR® certified model.
If you prefer not to do a home assessment, you can still get rebates for individual upgrades:
- Cold climate air source heat pumps: Up to $7,500
- Ground source heat pumps: Up to $12,000
- Smart thermostats: $75
- Solar panels and battery storage: Up to $10,000
Who Qualifies?
You may qualify if:
- You own your home (detached, semi-detached, townhouse, or mobile home with a permanent foundation).
- You’re an active Enbridge Gas customer primarily using natural gas heating or you’re connected to Ontario’s electricity grid and use electric heating.
- You choose ENERGY STAR® certified products.
How Does the Process Work?
Step 1: Schedule a home energy assessment with a registered energy advisor. (We can help you set this up!)
Step 2: Receive your advisor’s report and select at least two recommended upgrades.
Step 3: Have LAB Windows & Doors complete your installations professionally.
Step 4: Schedule a final evaluation to confirm your upgrades.
Step 5: Receive your rebates (usually within 6 weeks after paperwork submission).
